Just something to remind me of myself

PAPERKITE, a distinctive black & white butterfly that usually dominates on greenhouses. I'm fond of butterflies as their nature reveals something that resembles myself. This blog is all about my thoughts & memories that I want to keep. Born and raised in Davao City, Philippines. I must say I'm made of many things: a shutterbug, film enthusiast, foodie, computer junkie, martial artist, music lover, treehugger and particularly a beach bum. Well there are no secrets, just pieces of information you don't deserve to know.

Things I Like (+)

It’s my first time to cover a wedding as the official videographer.  So please be nice to me, okay? ^_^

Meet Declan.
Oh,yes! The long wait is over.  I’ve been saving money for months already so that I could finally purchase my very first digital SLR.  And I tell you the endurance and discipline in terms of budget is not easy.
I bought my Nikon d3100 via online from a store located in Manila.  I bought it on April 13 and it arrived on the next day around 7 PM. It’s worth 5 figs, I don’t want to mention the price, but I must say I got a good deal because it includes a free 4gig memory card and a camera bag.  It’s kinda funny, the brand of the free bag sent to me is Canon although my camera is Nikon.  Was that a joke or something? (laughs) Oh, well I don’t mind, I was actually expecting a brand-less bag but they have sent one which is better.  Now I declare bankruptcy and I’m totally broke!
I can’t write a product review yet since I’m still studying this new stuff.  But with the 14.2 megapixels and HD video capability, it’s a very good start for shutterbugs like me.
I name my camera Declan.  I got the name from a TV series I used to watch.  Then when I researched about the name, I found out that it’s actually a name of a Saint.  And I do like the sound of it, very unique.  Why name it? Well, there’s this sort of tradition to some that if you actually name something which is valuable to you, it will last longer.  I actually got that idea from my friends who already named their SLRs too.
Let the photo journey commence!
